课程介绍:In the first two lectures, I shall discuss the geometric properties of the Neumann-Poincar\’e (NP) operators and their applications. NP operators are classical boundary integral operators in layer potential theory and their study has called great attentions since they offer key tools in theoretical understanding of metamaterials and mathematical theory of invisibility. In the second two lectures, I shall discuss the mathematical theory of inverse problems for mean field games. Mean field games offer powerful tools in modelling and quantitative understanding the Nash equilibrium behaviors of large systems. We shall study the mean field games from the perspective of inverse problems.

授课人简介:Hongyu Liu is a professor of mathematics at City University of Hong Kong. He concurrently holds a Changjiang chair professorship awarded by the Ministry of Education, China. His research focuses on inverse problems and imaging, wave propagation, analysis and PDEs, mathematical materials science, scattering theory, spectral theory and the theory of mean field games. He is a recipient of the Calder\’on Prize by Inverse Problems International Association, and a Fellow of Institute of Physics, UK.
